Artist Statement
'Abstract painting is abstract. It confronts you.'
Jackson Pollock
I like to say I came into this world with crayons in my hands! Art is an inherent part of my being, and some of my earliest memories are of pursuing those instincts. Born with this passion, I have followed it with my heart and soul; creating, learning and evolving. My most recent work, releases my inner vision on environment, politics, and relationships. These areas affect and transform the flow of my creativity. I play with my paint and canvas, calling upon powerful emotions that emerge in my art. My favorite mediums are Oil, Acrylic and Watercolor. Sometimes I combine techniques... I delight in watching my creation unfold in the making.
I have studied at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and the Milwaukee Art Museum. I have also studied with notable artists who have mentored and nutured me.
My work has been described as "Pure joy on canvas", "Evocative" and an "Explosion of emotion" I hope my use of color and marks stimulates your imagination.
